Privacy policy

Switchyard is a Git client that works on your own computer. Your code never leaves it: no repository contents, paths, file names, branch names, commit messages or git identities are ever sent anywhere by us. This page lists everything that is. Pennywise App Studio ("we") is responsible for it.
What the app sends

Updates are downloaded from GitHub, which sees the download request as it would for any file.
When you buy
Payments are handled by Dodo Payments, the merchant of record. You give your payment details, name, email and billing country to Dodo Payments, not to us, under their privacy policy. We never see your card or bank details. Dodo Payments tells us your email address, the plan, the subscription's status and dates, and an id for your licence key, so that the app can tell you your plan and we can help if something goes wrong. We do not keep your licence key itself, only a one-way hash of it.
The website
We count page views and daily visitors with a hash of your address and browser that changes every day and is deleted after two days, so a visit cannot be followed from one day to the next. There are no cookies, no advertising and no third-party analytics. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts.
Where it is kept, and for how long
- In a database hosted by Supabase, served through Vercel. Both may process data outside your country.
- Machine and licence records are kept while they are in use, so a reinstall finds its own trial and plan again, and are deleted when you ask.
- Purchase records are kept as long as the law requires for accounts and tax.
Your rights
You can ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, by writing to pennywise.appstudio@gmail.com from the address you paid with. Deleting it ends any subscription's link to your computer. We do not sell data, and we do not share it except with the services named on this page, which process it only for us.
We may update this policy; the date at the top says when. A change that sends anything new from the app will be announced in the app first.
